Norman Vincent Peale used to say, "When God wants to send you a gift, he wraps it up in a problem. The bigger the gift that God wants to send you, the bigger the problem he wraps it up in." Instead of concentrating on the problem, look for the 'gift.' Wonderfully enough, you will always find it. What's more, sometimes the gift, or valuable lesson, can be of far greater value than the cost of the problem itself. Sometimes, one lesson that you learn in dealing with a problem can be the key to your long-term success. As Napoleon Hill wrote, "Within every problem or obstacle lies the seed of an equal or greater opportunity or benefit. Your job is to find it." -Brian Tracy, 'No Excuses! The Power of Self-Discipline'
Says Robert Schuler, "Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines." How true those words! And how equally stunning the fact that we all seem to miss out on that singular understanding of the reality that problems, in themselves, are opportunities - avenues for solutions to be found and for success to be achieved! Many are they who miss out on life's biggest opportunities because the initial problems to be grappled with look like a lot of work. But is that not man's lot anyway - to work?
Many of those problems you despise today, you see, are no more than wrappings placed around the choice gifts that God has in store for you. Through those selfsame problems - by unwrapping them with diligent work and patience - you will receive the wonderful gifts that lie encapsulated within them. But you will not get to the gifts unless you get rid of the problems surrounding them. It's as simple as that! If you didn't know this before, well, now you do!
Do not unwittingly walk away from your opportunities - your blessings - those big breakthroughs you have prayed for for so long - simply because you fail to see the "gifts" beneath the "problems" life litters your way with. Embrace your problems; work on solving them, and you will be very pleasantly surprised at just how much success will come your way through them.
